Cricket Betting Markets
l889 offers a wide variety of betting markets for cricket fans in Bangladesh. Find out below how each market works.
Match Winner
Bet on which team will win the match.
Example: Betting on Bangladesh in a Bangladesh vs Pakistan match.
Toss Winner
Predict which team will win the toss.
Example: India will win the toss in an India vs Australia T20.
Top Batsman
Bet on which batsman will score the most runs.
Example: Which batsman will score the most runs in Bangladesh's innings.
Total Runs Over/Under
Whether the total runs in an innings will be more or less than a set number.
Example: Whether the first innings will go over 150 runs.
Session Runs
Bet on how many runs will be scored in a specific over or session.
Example: More than 40 runs in the first powerplay (overs 1–6).
Method of Dismissal
How the next wicket will fall — bowled, caught, run out, or LBW.
Example: The next wicket will fall by a catch.
Player of the Match
Predict who will win the Player of the Match award.
Example: Which player will be the best in the BPL final.
Live In-Play Odds — Impact of Wickets & Overs
In live betting, odds change every moment. When a wicket falls, the batting team's odds immediately go up and the fielding team's odds come down. Likewise, when the batting team scores quickly, their odds of winning improve. The more runs needed in the final overs, the harder the equation becomes — this dynamic movement is what makes in-play betting engaging.
Betting Terminology / Glossary
The most important betting and casino terms explained for new players.
RTP (Return to Player)
A measure of what percentage of total bets a game returns to players over the long term. For example, an RTP of 96% means that on average ৳96 is returned for every ৳100 wagered.
House Edge
The share that the casino or betting platform keeps on average from each bet. It is the opposite of RTP — if RTP is 96%, the house edge is 4%.
Wagering Requirement
The condition specifying how many times a bonus amount must be wagered before it can be withdrawn. For example, a 10x wagering requirement means you need to place ৳10,000 in bets for a ৳1,000 bonus.
Stake
The amount of money you place on a single bet. There is usually a minimum and maximum stake limit.
Odds
A numerical expression of the probability of an event occurring. The higher the odds, the lower the relative chance of winning — but the reward is greater if you do win.
Parlay / Accumulator
Multiple bets combined together. Every single bet must win — if even one loses, the entire parlay is lost. However, if all win, the reward is much larger.
Live Bet
The ability to place bets in real time while a match is in progress. Odds change every moment, and placing a bet at the right time can give a significant advantage.
Cashout
The ability to partially or fully settle a bet before the match ends. This feature is used to lock in a guaranteed profit or to reduce a loss.
Bankroll
The total budget set aside specifically for gaming or betting. Managing it properly is the key to playing sustainably over the long term.
Volatility
A measure of how frequently and by how much winnings vary in a slot game. High volatility means fewer but larger wins; low volatility means frequent but smaller wins.
Free Spin
The opportunity to spin a slot game without using your own money. Usually received as part of a bonus offer or a special in-game feature.
Spread
A betting market based on the points or runs difference between two teams. In spread betting, the margin of victory matters, not just who wins or loses.
RTP and House Edge Explained
RTP (Return to Player) is a numerical representation of what percentage of money a game returns to players over the long term. For example, if a slot's RTP is 96%, theoretically an average of ৳96 comes back for every ৳100 wagered. However, this is the average across millions of spins — results in a single session can vary.
The RTP range differs across game types. Slot games typically have an RTP of 92%–98%, table games like Blackjack can approach 99% with the right strategy, and Roulette generally falls in the 94%–97% range. A higher RTP is generally more favorable for the player.
House Edge is the opposite of RTP. If RTP is 96%, the house edge is 4% — meaning the casino keeps an average of ৳4 for every ৳100 wagered. The lower the house edge, the better it is for the player.
It is wise to check the RTP of any game before playing. Keep in mind, though, that RTP is only a long-term average — in the short term, luck and volatility play a major role. Knowing this information allows you to play more consciously and avoid unrealistic expectations.
Bankroll Management Guide
Set a budget: Before you start gaming, decide on a fixed budget that you can afford to lose without it affecting your daily life. Never use household expenses, rent, or emergency savings as your gaming budget.
Divide into sessions: Split your total bankroll into smaller session budgets. For example, divide your weekly budget across 7 days. This way there is no risk of losing your entire budget on one bad day.
1%–5% per bet rule: Use between 1% and a maximum of 5% of your total bankroll on each individual bet. Following this rule means that even a losing streak will not drain your bankroll quickly, and you will have a chance to recover.
Stop after a win: Have the discipline to end your session once you reach your target. Many times people keep playing for "just a little more" and end up losing all their winnings. Set aside a portion of your winnings and withdraw it.
Take a break after a loss: Stop immediately once you have lost your set limit. Chasing losses by placing bigger bets is a very harmful habit. Take a short break and start fresh the next day.
